Scouting has a rich history in the United States and the world. Troop 477 is one of the thousands of Scout Troops found within the Boy Scouts of America structure. Scouting aims to help guide youth thoroughly into intellegent, prepared, young adult leaders.
At Troop 477, we spend weekends camping in the frozen snows of the Sierra Nevada. We hike through the stunning landscapes of the Central Valley. We might spend a week camping with hundreds of other Scouts in our annual Summer Camps. We retire the flags of our country, and service them with the dignity they deserve. We learn and practice the civic virtues of American society and how to be a citizen. We collect food donations and properly prepare them for their consumption by those in need. These are just some of the adventures and values that can be attained if you become a Scout. Scouting is a multi-year journey that will take you across your childhood to prepare you for adulthood.
Troop 477 accepts potential Scouters from all backgrounds. To join, you must:
Be at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade.
Be under the age of 18.
If you have any questions and or would like to express becoming a Scout with our Troop, please contact our Scoutmaster Cory Xaiver. His details can be found on our contacts page.
